Don Quixote Tapas & Things: Spanish bites off South St.

Owner Vanessa Flacco says the atmosphere will be lively, and will include priced-for-the-neighborhood dishes.

Entrepreneur Vanessa Flacco is about three weeks from opening Don Quixote Tapas & Things, a Mediterranean BYOB, at 526 S. Fourth St. in Queen Village.

The space has been a number of restaurants since the 2008 shutdown of its best-known occupant, Django. It was last Delicias.

Flacco says the atmosphere will be lively, and will include priced-for-the-neighborhood dishes such as gambas al ajillo (shrimp in garlic sauce), tortilla a la espanola, empanadas, steamed mussels, flash-fried calamari, and paella. Vegan dishes will be offered, too, as will fruit smoothies.

She expects to open the week after July 4. Hours will be dinner Tuesday to Friday, brunch and dinner Saturday and Sunday.
