There's been a slight of change of plans regarding the new incarnation of Doc Watson's, the landmark watering hole at 216 S. 11th St., across from Jefferson Hospital.

Doc's closed the night of Feb. 3, the day before longtime owner Barry Sandrow sold it to a partnership that intends to redo Doc's into a British pub called Sherlock's Tavern.

But now the partners tell me that right now, they are doing a cleanup/face lift and will reopen it later this month under the Doc Watson's name.

It will operate till June 1 or so, and then close for a summer-long renovation that will lead to Sherlock's.

My previous coverage is here.
