'City hip' diner coming to Broad and South Streets

A modern diner is coming to Broad and South Streets, replacing the shuttered Juniper Commons in the SouthStar Lofts.

Restaurant veteran Peter Mooradian (Chima, Oceanaire Seafood Room, Serafina, Four Seasons) is working with Dimitrios Kolovos, whose family owns the Penrose and Oregon Diners.

Mooradian said they're going for a "city hip" angle - "somewhere between the Penrose and the Continental," he said.

They're planning a bar, a big grab-and-go section, and 24-hour operation on the weekends.

No name yet.

At the earliest, it's expected to open in late August.
