Dim Sum House by Jane G's opens in University City

Jane Guo and son Jackson Fu of the Center City Sichuan specialist Jane G's have expanded to University City with Dim Sum House by Jane G's.
The sleek, sumptuous restaurant, on the second floor of the new apartment building at 3939 Chestnut St. (215-921-5377), offers a bar/lounge with street views and a pool table. (Why a pool table? Fu said he'd rather sacrifice a couple of tables to give customers another reason to stop up.) Full bar setup includes cocktails, wines by the bottle and glass, four beers on draft and assorted bottles.
Two dining rooms in the rear, past cabinetry filled with Chinese ornaments, have contrasting settings - subdued vs. bright - and there's private dining space, as well.

The family is well-versed in dim sum, as Fu's wife, Sally Song, owns Dim Sum Garden in Chinatown. (Guo herself owned Noodle Heaven, on Broad Street, which closed in 2003; the space is now Bop, after a long spell as Bliss. She also owns Panda Heaven, Panda Heaven 2, and Panda Fun in Pottstown and Reading.)
It's open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
