Susan Schlisman, who owns the Sam's Grills in the burbs and Devil's Alley at 19th and Chestnut, is not only opening at 11th and Sansom Streets but has a fifth spot in the works.

Schlisman told me that she's targeting late January for Smokin' Betty's, which has been in the works for a year at 116 S. 11th St., near Jefferson Hospital. It'll be a similarly casual, BBQ-centric operation.

She says she's also sosoclose to signing a lease for a fifth spot. All she'll say is that it will be east of Broad.
