Dawn Stensland to leave Fox29
She's ending an 8-year run as the main female anchor. Kerri-Lee Halkett will succeed her.
Dawn Stensland will end her eight-year run at Fox29 by the end of the year when her contract expires, a station spokeswoman said today.
Stensland's last day has not been determined.
In a Twitter message, she tweeted: "Fox is not renewing my contract. I wanted you to hear that directly from me. Thank you for all your love and support over the years."
Kerri-Lee Halkett will take the femme seat on the 10 p.m. show with Thomas Drayton.
Stensland's nearly 20 years in news includes two years as co-host of CBS News Saturday Morning, and four years at KYW (Channel 3).
She moved here in 1997 to join her then-fiance, Larry Mendte, whom she had met in Chicago. The couple married in 2000.
The station wouldn't provide further detail on the impending departure.
