Dawn Stensland will end her eight-year run at Fox29 by the end of the year when her contract expires, a station spokeswoman said today.

Stensland's last day has not been determined.

In a Twitter message, she tweeted: "Fox is not renewing my contract. I wanted you to hear that directly from me. Thank you for all your love and support over the years."

Kerri-Lee Halkett will take the femme seat on the 10 p.m. show with Thomas Drayton.

Stensland's nearly 20 years in news includes two years as co-host of CBS News Saturday Morning, and four years at KYW (Channel 3).

She moved here in 1997 to join her then-fiance, Larry Mendte, whom she had met in Chicago. The couple married in 2000.

The station wouldn't provide further detail on the impending departure.

Like no one saw that coming! Dawn has to have known this was happening since they brought in that pretty, vapid, young robot.

I wish Dawn the best. The first comment was correct, she was (and is) a class act. What I liked about her best was that she was a real person, not made of plastic like many of her colleagues in the business.
