Danny Bonaduce, who starts Monday morning on WYSP, says he didn't need a fancy relocation specialist to set him up with an apartment.
WYSP (94.1) today finally confirmed the worst-kept secret in radio -- that Danny Bonaduce will start Monday on morning drive. His shift will be 6 to 10 a.m.
When moving 3,000 miles from L.A., most people would build in a week or two between jobs. Few people share Bonaduce's work ethic.
The Broomall native told me today that he's flying here after his show Wednesday on a red-eye and will spend much of Thursday asleep in a Center City hotel. Friday, he will do two L.A. shows from WYSP studios. Saturday, the furniture arrives at his new apartment. He and CBS did not enlist a relo specialist to match him with housing. I won't give his exact address. He said: "My mom made a couple calls, and said, 'You have to live in the [blank]. " So he rented in the [blank].
Asked what the show would be like, he said, "It's hard to say. I don't really write a show. Well, I do write a show, just so when they ask what I'm doing, I can show them something. Nothing funny happens in an office building in a cubicle. It sucks the life out of comedy. I go out and live my life and that becomes the next day's show." Expect music and shtick.
Bonaduce will employ the services of his current L.A. sidekick, Shila, and predecessor Kidd Chris' former producer, Michael "Metro" Cerio.
