Gawker reports that DailyCandy, a daily shopper e-mail blast, will stop the specific editions for seven of its 12 cities, including Philadelphia, where it's been spitting out copy since mid-2006.

Besides the likely impending departure of Philly editor Meredith Lindemon, the move looks bad in another way: In summer 2008, Philly-based Comcast paid $125 million for it.

After Jan. 1, according to the memo that Gawker obtained, the city editions for New York, London, LA, Chicago and San Francisco will remain. Miami, Dallas, D.C., Boston, Atlanta, Seattle, and Philly will go.

Subscribers in the affected cities will get twice-a-week local event guides.
