Culinary Collective: 4 cool dining nights in Rittenhouse

18 restaurants around Rittenhouse Square are hosting interesting events to pep up August.

If you're bored with the notion of "restaurant weeks" and their fixed-priced offerings, what Rittenhouse Row has planned for four nights in early August sounds truly extraordinary.

The business group, through chef Kevin Sbraga and Starr Restaurants' Danielle DelRe, has signed on 18 restaurants so far to host special dining events Aug. 4-7.

The Culinary Collective, as this new promo is billed, includes a few one-nighters as well as special menus that will run the four nights.

No $35 prix-fixes included.

So far, the list includes a six-course menu served at the chef's counter at a.kitchen; a Jersey shore dinner at Sbraga; a preview of V (the vegan bar from Vedge) held at Cook; a one-night tribute to Spain's Bar Nestor by chef Dave Conn at Tinto; a beer and cheese class run by Di Bruno's and held at the Corner Foodery; a degustation menu cooked by Georges Perrier at The Crow & the Pitcher (yes, he'll make his signature Galette de Crabe); a discount night at Bar Volver; a tasting dinner at Devon Seafood Grill; a wine dinner at Meritage; a National Oyster Day dinner at Oyster House; and a one-nighter by author Hope Cohen at Rouge with chef Sam Noh.

You can see the growing list here. Reservations should be made through the individual restaurants.
