Copabanana's building is for sale

The building at the southeast corner of Fourth and South Streets is for sale, with an asking price of $2.7 million, according to an offering at LoopNet.

But when I contacted the broker, Reid Rosenthal, he emphasized that while 344 South St. does indeed house the landmark Copabanana, that restaurant is not part of the deal.

"They have an iron-clad lease to be there for many years," he said.

The building is now owned by a Boston-based partnership.
