Common Wealth: Southern tastes in Old City

"What's not to love?" asks chef Joe Battista of Lowcountry cuisine.

The bar-restaurant in the spot that was 4 Fathers and GiGi seems more food-forward than the predecessors.

Builder Tom Bury, who has done lots of redesign work for the Restaurant Impossible show, turned the space into a rustic, intimate bistro, adding fling-out windows to Market Street.

The deck alongside the building is one of the larger auto-exhaust-free outdoor seating options in Old City.

Brown liquors are the specialty of cocktails created by consultant David Howard, and the bar features 13 rotating taps of local craft beer and a domestic wine list designed for a rotating cheese selection.
