Coming soon: The Cambridge on South Street

Chris Fetfatzes and Heather Annechiarico of Hawthornes in Bella Vista will spring the lock on their new bar, The Cambridge, on Aug. 1. It's at 1508 South St., in the former Tritone.

Fetfatzes describes the join as "a corner bar in the middle of the block." Interior is full of reclaimed items.

Bar will have 24 draft beers, 20 in bottles (all sours), 12 or so wines, 8 cocktails, 30 six-packs to go. Beers will be available in pints, half-pints, and 11-ounce pours. Free snacks will be served during the 4-to-6 p.m. happy hours.

Menu from a tag team in the kitchen will include such intriguing-sounding dishes as Buffalo wing confit, roast lamb shank, homemade pierogis, four different burgers, steak frites, homemade corned beef, and "half a whole chicken" - half a bird served on a silver platter with sides such as stewed tomatoes and collard greens, jalapeno cornbread, and smoked gouda mac.

It will be open weeknights and from lunchtime to late night on weekends (kitchen open till 1 a.m.)
