The new four-bedroom.

Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels and wife Heidi Strobel make a big deal over their high-rise apartment in Two Liberty Place, but they've put a deposit on a newly constructed four-bedroom, two-story Colonial in Newtown Square listed at $2.2 million.

Strobel, due at the end of the summer with their first child, a boy, said she was not sure if they'd keep both places. "We're figuring out if it's the right decision," she told me about buying -- given that they also own land near her hometown of Springfield, Mo.

"We do love it here [in Liberty Place], but it's something that Cole and I have to talk about." The Hamelses previously lived in a West Chester townhouse while she got a master's at West Chester University.

Cole and Lidge brought vistory to Philadelphia after 20+ years. If it was a one time wonder or sign of better things to come should not enter into the equation how they should be treated. They should be treated as heroes. Some say that McNabb would be king of this town if he won a superbowl for a loosing team like Eagles; a team that never won a superbowl. But I doubt some people are smart enough to honor local heroes. Good luck to Cole and his family. Thanks for a great season. I hope there will be more to come. True fan.

Thank you Seed - I completely agree. There is no need whatsoever for people to post such nasty and disrespectful nonsense. Whether he had no wins and was brutal this year, what he helped bring the to city during those amazing three weeks last October was a time we should all cherish and treat with fondness and respect. Whatever he makes or does, do not forget what he did for us last year and treat him with the respect that he and his wife deserve. Remember, neither of them have ever done anything to deserve the nonsense that yahmpy, Dr. Michael, sd73 and others spew... Thank you Cole, enjoy your new digs in Newtown Square. Too bad Harry isn't your neighbor anymore...

And you wonder why Philadelphia fans have such a bad reputation? What a pack of losers.

Professional athletes buy property all the time, it's only because of our obsessive sportswriters and their bromances with Cole that this stuff makes news. And Mrs. Cole helps run a clothing company, she's not a golddigger. Speak about what you know.

Patrick, you are so right. You people are all jealous idiots! Good luck and congrats to Cole and his wife. Yahmpy, when you get married, everything becomes 50/50 you dope. If you don't like it, then don't get married.
