The "why" question is not being answered, but Marshall Green has left his chef's post at Jerry's Bar in Northern Liberties.
Green declined to comment today on his departure, other than to say that he is working at his parents' garden center in Glenside.
Jerry's owner Christie Proud-Bernstein says Matt Moon - an alum of Talula's Table, The Saint James and Bishop's Collar who had been chef de cuisine - has been promoted to executive chef.
Green hit the dining radar several years back with Cafe Estelle, a critically praised bruncherie, also in Northern Liberties. He helped set up the kitchen at Jerry's, a former back-street shot-and-a-beer that Proud's family restored to two-bell glory.
