Chef Townsend Wentz opening on East Passyunk

The ink is barely dry on a new lease at 1623 E. Passyunk Ave., the former Sophia's and Salt & Pepper.

The occupant will be chef Townsend Wentz, the Lacroix and Four Seasons alum who was awarded two bells for his work at McCrossen's Tavern in the Art Museum area.

Wentz says it will open in the spring with wine-driven, modern French food.
