Chef Ezra Duker leaving Mainland Inn

A month after getting 3 bells, he says he wants to travel.

The Mainland Inn in Harleysville is losing the services of chef Ezra Duker after Saturday, June 6.

Seeking a chance to travel, Duker gave his notice. He had been with the inn for a year and a half - more than half of the time getting the kitchen set up. The landmark in central Montgomery County had been closed for five years.

His second-in-command, Brett Romberg, who has been on staff for some time, is being moved into the chef de cuisine position. His bio includes stops at Marea in New York and the Kimberton Inn in Chester County.

In a statement, owner Sloane Six said the mission of using only organic and sustainably produced ingredients, including heirloom vegetables and heritage breed, soy-free, pasture-raised meats from Six's own Quarry Hill Farm, will remain.
