Cheese, charcuterie and chefs at Cornerstone on Main Line

Chefs Christine (Doherty) Kondra and Nick Kondra have set up a 14-seat chef's counter with a train view, which not only will accommodate daily drop-in customers but will serve as seating for culinary classes held by visiting chefs.

There's a little of this and a little of that - meats, cheeses, prepared foods, visiting chefs - coming together at Cornerstone Cheese & Charcuterie, which opens Oct. 9 at 1 West Ave. (610-688-1888), across from the Wayne train station.

Chefs Christine (Doherty) Kondra and Nick Kondra have set up a 14-seat chef's counter with a train view, which not only will accommodate daily drop-in customers (it's BYOB) but will serve as seating for culinary classes held by visiting chefs.

Besides sourced cheeses and cured meats, cooks will make sausages and pates in-house. Cornerstone also sells bread, specialty crackers, pickled vegetables, and other specialty foods.

Cornerstone's first visiting chef will be Tim Bodell of Francis Ford Coppola's Rustic and Francis' Favorites, in Geyserville, Calif., on Oct. 28-29. Seating ($150 a head) is limited to 14 guests; reservations are here.
