Changing of the guard at Kennett

Co-founder Johnny Della Polla said the business would continue with the same staff, though he is not sure how long the restaurant will remain.

Johnny Della Polla says he and partner Ashley Bohan are out of Kennett, the eco-friendly Queen Village bar-restaurant they founded four years ago.

Della Polla said the business would continue with the same staff, though he is not sure how long the restaurant will remain.

The building's owner erected a banner advertising the sale of the bar, its liquor license and the three apartments above.

Court records show that the building owner in August filed a judgment seeking $37,529 against 848 Enterprises Inc., the business. The business also filed for bankruptcy protection last year.

Kennett won its share of critical acclaim early on, particularly under chef Brian Ricci, who is in charge of the kitchen at Brick & Mortar, opening soon at the Goldtex building on 12th Street above Vine.
