After four years, The CW’s “Wake Up News” -- a partnership between CBS3 and Traffic.com -- is going away.

Effective June 29,  CBS3's “Eyewitness News This Morning,” which now airs from 5 to 7 a.m., will be expanded to 7 to 9 a.m. -- though those two hours will air on CW Philly 57.

What this means, besides a dial change at 7 a.m.: "Wake Up" anchor Natasha Brown will report for the new newscast. "Wake Up" traffic guy Sean Murphy will continue as a feature reporter and backup for CBS3 traffic guy Bob Kelly, and weathercaster Christa Quinn will do backup work for CBS3, a station spokeswoman said.

The CW show is produced in Traffic.com's Wayne studios. By using the CBS3 studios, the expanded program will be in all HD.

The station says Ukee Washington and Liz Keptner will anchor the program on both stations along with meteorologist Maria LaRosa and Kelly.

Earlier this year, CBS3 started a 10 p.m. 'cast with Dave Huddleston, branded as "Eyewitness News," on CW Philly 57.

Bugsy
Call it what you want, "Wake Up" or whatever....It's more like "Tired News " or "Fox 29 Light".

I don't really think anybody will miss it.

It was only a matter of time for them to retire this branding. I only thought they named it as such because of the synergy of the UPN logo (they were an affiliate at the time the news program started) with the title.

I love Sean, Christa, and Natasha. I wake up to them every morning. They are not like the rest of those boring morning shows with no humor. They are a great team and they should stay as such. If I wanted to watch Bob, Ukee, and Liz all I would have to do is change the channel to them. This news is truly upsetting to me.

What a shock, not everyone wanted to watch 10 minutes of "news" dragged out for 4 hours.

Say what you want I totally enjoyed watching "Wake Up News". All I want in the morning is weather, news and traffic...nothing more. Sean, Christa and Natasha are great. As one comment said...if I wanted to watch CBS, I would. I'm not interested in the early morning about depressing news. I need traffic, etc. I'll miss them.

I am really mad about this. I love Sean, Christa, and Natasha. At least they all had personalities and the news was actually entertaining. I will miss them and will not be watching the replacement.

I, also, am upset with the change in my morning news. I dont want anyone cooking meals or interviewing anyone at seven a.m. I want my news team back! We have changed our channel to watch other inferior news shows until you bring back the best team on t.v. news. If we wanted to watch channel 3, we'd have flipped the channel four years ago. Thanks for nothing!!!

I tried watching CBS's "Eyewitness News" this morning and could NOT stand it! I had to wait about a half hour to find out anything related to the weather and they just flashed by it to go on with a lame interview about baseball that I could care less about on my way to work! I loved Sean, Natasha and Christa because they would tell me everything I needed to know and put me in a great mood. They knew their stuff and didn't need to bore me with cooking stories or lame news, I got my traffic report, my weather report for the week and basic headlines, which is all I need to worry about at 7 a.m.. If you want to watch CBS news, just change the channel and watch them! Bring my loving "Wake Up News" crew back!

Fox used to show the traffic every ten minutes, and then they just stopped. Now they only show it every half hour. And they fired Clayton Morris, who was actually entertaining, instead of bland wonderbread guy. I started watching CW so that I could see timely, up to the minute traffic once or twice while I ate breakfast. Now I can't really do that with any of them, and I don't like this new show.

I just returned from vacation and was extremely sad to learn that I will no longer be able to enjoy Natasha, Shawn and Christa. They shared such a chemistry I am sorry to see it end. They kept me informed on what I need to start my day weather, traffic and news but more importantly they made me smile. That was a great way to start my day. I wish them all well and hope some day that team will be together again.

I am really sad about losing my morning show. I'm going to miss Shawn, Natasha and Christa every morning. They were so personable, I felt like I knew them. To Sean, Natasha, and Christa: you guys were an awesome team. I loved watching you every morning and I am sorry to see this show end!!! If I wanted to watch Channel 3 in the morning I would have. I don't want to watch channel 3 on channel 57. That team made channel 57 watchable and you took them off. If it is not broke then don't fix it. Whose bright idea was it to change things? I still miss watching them. Bring them back!
