Fox29 reports that Branzino Italian Ristorante - one of the better bargains on 17th Street in Rittenhouse - was raided midday Tuesday by agents wearing the latest in IRS-labeled apparel.

The cops were shown on Fox29 video as they brought out boxes believed to be business records.

No criminal or civil charges apparently have been filed, according to federal court records.

Owner Luan Toto and the restaurant's management could not be reached for comment, though the restaurant was open for business Wednesday.

An IRS rep acknowledged the raid, but aside from saying the agents were there on official business would not describe what was seized.
