Jeff Michaud, chef-partner at Osteria on North Broad Street, won the James Beard Award for best chef, mid-Atlantic Monday night at the Beard Awards gala.
Zahav's Michael Solomonov was up for the same award; Bibou of South Philadelphia was a nominee for best new restaurant; Stephen Starr of Starr Restaurant Organization was up for outstanding restaurateur; and Vetri (the restaurant) was a nominee for outstanding service.
