Baked by Melissa coming to Rittenhouse?

A storefront at 16th and Walnut Streets seems possible.

Baked by Melissa coming to Rittenhouse?

The carbs are piling up in Philly, and another New York sweet shop has designs on the city.

Folliowing in the trail of cupcake specialist Crumbs Bake Shop on 18th Street is Big Apple-based mini-cupcake specialist Baked by Melissa, which is advertising for a store manager for its first Philly location.

But where?

A company rep on Tuesday said it was premature to name a spot because a deal is not yet complete.

My real estate wags are wondering if the key to the mystery lies in some pink-painted planks of plywood - if I can get all alliterative on you.

It's at 1605 Walnut St., a cupcake-size facade between the BCBG Max Azria boutique on the corner of 16th and Walnut Streets and the newish retro-style boutique Bettie Page.

A sign reads, "Pardon our dust! We're getting ready for an exciting new treat."

Another sign on Bettie Page's window is an L&I stop-work order, indicating that the contractor did not pull the required permit to do the work.
