BBQ shakeup in Montco

Rosey's BBQ, which enjoyed a three-plus-year run in Jenkintown Square at 505 Old York Road in Jenkintown, has closed.

Owner Chad Rosenthal has sold the operation to Glenn Gross, who operates Fat Jack's BBQ with locations in Far Northeast and Vineland, N.J.

Rosenthal, who recently closed the Rosey's offshoot in Ambler, said he wants to devote all his time to a forthcoming restaurant in Ambler whose location he would not dlsclose. (Local rumor has him turning up at the former Shanachie on Butler Avenue.)

The smoker in Jenkintown won't be down for too long. Gross tells me that he had a preplanned vacation set for next week and intends to get cracking in a few weeks as Fat Jack's.

Before Rosenthal opened Rosey's in that Jenkintown strip mall, it was known as Abner's BBQ.
