Another gastropub coming to East Passyunk

Lucky 13 is on the way.

Another gastropub coming to East Passyunk

Burgeoning East Passyunk:

This week saw the opening of the second Adobe Cafe at 1919 E. Passyunk.

Izumi, the Japanese at 1601 E. Passyunk from Paradiso's Lynn Rinaldi (1627 E. Passyunk), is looking at the last week of September.

Sticks & Stones, a pub, is still under heavy construction at 1909 E. Passyunk. Owner Nick Miglino says he can't even project an opening date for two weeks.

Here's a new one: Lucky 13, a pub/hangout that will fill the spot that was Vincenzo's at 1820 S. 13th St. Owner Clark Newman, who's tended bar around here since the mid-1980s (Grape Street and Le Bus in Manayunk), says he hopes to open in three weeks softly. He's stocking his jukebox now. Chef is Benjamin Johnson, who just gave notice at the Plough & the Stars. He's a a Restaurant School alum whose resume includes the Omni, Le Bus in Manayunk, Rittenhouse Hotel, and the Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta. He plans a tight, old-school menu (rabbit pot pie!), plus vegan choices.
