Ambler, the Main Street USA town along the SEPTA Doylestown line, is gearing up for its first restaurant week, Sunday, July 10 through Friday, July 15.

Eleven restaurants are participating and will be offering dinner specials and prix fixes throughout the week. There will also be artists displaying their work, live music, retail specials and extended hours on select nights during restaurant week. The day after, Saturday, July 16, will see an art stroll from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Keep an eye on Ambler's website. Among the deals:
Bridget's: 3 courses for $32 ($5 will be donated to Ronald McDonald House)
Dettera: 3 courses for $30
Trax: 3 courses for $30
Massa: 3 courses for $30
Shanachie: 4 courses for $30
KC's Alley: 3 courses for $20 ($5 will be donated to Ronald McDonald House)
From the Boot: 3 courses $20
Saffron: 3 courses $20
Fireside: 1 half-priced appetizer

Kicking off the week, from July 8 to 10, will be the grand opening of Rosey's BBQ, an offshot of the very fine Jenkintown 'Q joint. Owner Chad Rosenthal -- and as a point of fact, his brother Reid was on ABC's The Bachelor  -- will give out comp beer to dine-in customers and provide live blues all three nights. Rosey's opens 11 a.m. July 1 at 9 N. Main St. Here's the menu.

I love Ambler! It is so 'home town - I love the reference to "Main Street USA"! The Ambler Theater has their summer series (Fight Club, Monday, July 11th)...these restaurants are all a testament to a genuineness you feel as you speak with owner/operators who want to create an experience that is memorable and brings you back! Hope to see a lot of folks dining, strolling, movie watching, ice cream eating and realizing this town resembles where the American Dream began - not "the mall".
