Ambler getting a bit of soul

Chad Rosenthal, out of the BBQ business, is taking over the former Shanachie.

Ambler getting a bit of soul

The Shanachie - one of the larger restaurants on Ambler's main drag (111 E. Butler Ave.) - closed March 31.

Since then, there have been various rumors of new operators, including Dave Magrogan, who owns Doc Magrogan's, Kildare's, and Harvest. (It's not Magrogan, who soon will announce another location for Harvest, in central Montco.)

It's Chad Rosenthal, who formerly owned Rosey's BBQ locations in both Ambler and Jenkintown. He says he'll open there March 15 or thereabouts.

Rosenthal is mum on name and exact concept, but says it will "have soul and a funky, hip vibe, combined with a live music venue."

Perhaps it will be a fun spot for singles, as well.

Rosenthal's brother Reid has been featured on both The Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad.
