A split-up at Talula's Table

It's business as usual at Talula's Table in Kennett Square -- except for one aspect.

Bryan Sikora is no longer in the picture at the celebrated market/cafe, which boasts a yearlong waiting list for its farm-table dinners that serve eight to 12 people a night.

Sikora and Aimee Olexy, his wife and business partner first in Queen Village at Django and since 2007 at Talula's Table, have split.

Olexy is still running Talula's, where their longtime chefs Matthew Moon, Joshua Behm, and John Patterson handle the kitchen, much as they did when Sikora was there.

"I will continue a creative and supportive role in limitation," Sikora told me. "All I want is Talula's to succeed forever."

Sikora has joined the SoDel Concepts restaurant chain as corporate chef for SoDel Concepts.

He is overseeing the kitchens in all the restaurants, including Betty's Pure & Simple, which opens Friday on Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach.

"We are positively thrilled to benefit from Bryan's expertise," owner Matt Haley said in a press release.

Sikora initially will concentrate on the northern restaurants, which include Fish On in Lewes, Betty's, and Lupo di Mare.
