For years, Pineville Tavern in Bucks County has been a find - a decent restaurant in an 18th-century inn, in a restaurant desert south of New Hope near Newtown.
The Abruzzese family, which has owned Pineville for a quarter-century, just brought in as a consultant Matt Levin - now with Brulee Catering after downtown turns with the former Square Peg, his own Adsum, and the chef's spot at Lacroix at the Rittenhouse.
Levin is working with chef Drew Abruzzese, who worked for Levin more than a dozen years ago at Moonlight in New Hope.
Their new menus, out this week, include fried oysters with jalapeno and roasted garlic remoulade, a house charcuterie plate, jumbo lump crabmeat risotto, grilled ahi tuna with a sweet soy vinaigrette, and escargot.
The Abruzzeses also have amped up the beverages, adding 77 new craft bottles and four rotating draft lines including an IPA, a weissbier, and two seasonal taps.
