A power player coming to 13th St.

An orange liquor-transfer sign is up at the long-shuttered Full Moon Saloon at 131 S. 13th St., and public records ID the applicant as a company controlled by real estate powerhouse Allan Domb.

Domb would tell me only that he bought the building and that it came with a liquor license.

Word on the street is that Nicole Marquis of HipCityVeg - the smash-hit vegan quick-serve located in a Domb property on Rittenhouse Square - is considering the spot.

Domb is no stranger to the restaurant business. He owns Schlesinger's Deli at 1521 Locust St. and is an investor in a few Stephen Starr restaurants, including El Vez (two doors away) Barclay Prime (located inside the Barclay, which Domb owns). I'm hearing that Starr is not a part of this project.

The Washington Square West building - a narrow, four-story, onetime rooming house squished between Vintage Wine Bar and a leather shop - had been on the market seemingly forever.

The building's former owner even erected a sign calling it "Thirteen Street Bistro" in an attempt to spruce up the vacant property.

Update: The pending license now bears only Marquis' name, so I stick by my belief that she is the tenant.

"Leather shop" is referring to the business politely. Well done.

Wasn't the Full Moon Saloon a strip club?

Leather shop? Then why are the mouth gags, blindfolds, and handcuffs advertised for sale in the window?

Sounds like you walk by there a lot.

Last vacant property on the block, 13th street is the best block in the city! I hope they knock out that un-inviting wall and get some nice windows that open up to the street, the more they can incorporate the outside the better. Great news for 13th street!

Looks like a prime location for a gay bar. These folks opening up diners and dives along 13th street are either capitalizing on the gay ambiance of this location in hopes of a built-in gay clientele OR they are trying to usurp the area as their own and soon make the gay bars, bathhouses and bookstores some offers of money that cannot refuse. May turn into "Foodie Street" soon. We shall see.

Soon the patrons will begin complaining about their children being exposed to LGBT community as they slowly take over the area - "Oh no! My child saw a man in chaps carrying a gay magazine as we ate our dinner! Our children! We need to call the mayor!" LOL! Wait and see.

MS. LOU - When was the last time you were on this section of 13th Street, 1998?? LOL! The gay bars on 13th are all south of Walnut now.

Hey Harry! I suggest you take a walk around there at lunch and reassess that.

I was there recently on a weekday and saw this ... Lord! I don't know WHAT it was? Looked like Jocelyn Wildenstein with implants the size of medicine balls wearing a tube top and low-rise jeans ten sizes too small.

You were there on a weekday in 1973? Literally none of what you say is true. You write weird comments on every post about good things in Philly, you usually use quotes and create fake scenarios, another sad Troll.

You know, if you're going to just make stuff up, you need to pay attention to the details.

"Recently"..."wearing a tube top"...in this weather??? I don't think so, liar. I'll just write the "ten sizes too small" off a hyperbole.

One of the hottest neighborhoods in the city. Lots of change the last ten years. Ms. Lou, actually take a walk and see with your eyes, not what you hear.
