A look up at Center City's Cheesecake Factory

Cheesecake Factory - whose locations pretty much ring the city (Cherry HIll, Willow Grove, King of Prussia) - is in prep mode for its first Center City branch.

Staff is training at 1430 Walnut St. in advance of a June 23 opening.

Cheesecake has taken the second floor of a new glassed-in building at the southeast corner of 15th and Walnut Streets. Entrance is on the Walnut Street side. Glimpse the two-story escalator topped by dramatic lighting, and you'll feel like you're in a casino.

Upstairs, the dining room stems out from the bar, beneath hand-painted murals and more mod lighting. There's the obligatory dessert case.

An enclosed porch overlooks the intersection of 15th and Walnut. Look up from your crispy crab wontons and see Liberty Place off in the distance.

Bar/restaurant seats about 285 people, and about that number of jobs were created.

It will be open for lunch and dinner daily.
