A Little Cafe un-retires, reopening as Mexican BYOB
The Voorhees BYOB closed Feb, 16. It's returning as El Mariachi San Lucas.
After 18 years at A Little Cafe in Voorhees, chef-owner Marianne Cuneo-Powell closed the BYOB on Feb. 16, saying that she had to do something else and move in a new direction.
That "new direction" is South of the Border.
Cuneo-Powell's sous chef of 15 years - Anna Ramos - is now a partner, and they're changing the concept to Mexican - Ramos' roots.
Friday, April 4 is the soft opening of El Mariachi San Lucas Mexican Cuisine (118 White Horse Rd., Voorhees, 856-784-3800). Extensive renovations have brought home the feel of Ramos' home town of San Lucas in Puebla. It will be open daily for lunch and dinner.
Cuneo-Powell will continue to offer A Little Cafe's catering services along with El Mariachi's.
Menu (here) mixes the budget (tacos, quesadillas) with more refined fare (such as molcajete, steak and shrimp).
