Little Fish to close

Saturday will be the last night. Owner Mike Stollenwerk says his customers' safety is paramount.

Little Fish to close

Saturday will be the last night at Little Fish at Sixth and Catharine Streets, one of the city's seafood secrets.

Mike Stollenwerk, the BYOB's chef-owner, has been having trouble with the condition of the building, which has been an issue since last fall. (See previous.)

"We want to keep our customers safe," he told me. "We have to worry about it everyday."

He's looking for a new space in the borders of Christian and Walnut Streets and Front and 13th Streets.

He says he looked at the former Ava on Third Street at Gaskill, but "we weren't feeliing it. It's not a Little Fish-y type place."

For now, he's going strong at Fish, 1708 Lombard St. Little Fish gift certificates will be honored there.
