After nearly four months, Bar Amalfi (122 S. 18th St.) will be converted to a Middle Eastern lounge concept, says owner Al Paris. The changeover will come gradually while Amalfi is still open, though a short closing will be necessary for the final work. The new name and menu have not been determined.

Paris has taken on new partners.

In 2006, Paris opened Mantra, a pan-Asian lounge, in the space that previously was Fish Market, Mademoiselle de Paris, Fishmarket (again), T. Rodgers and Yann's.
