Villanova's White, Medley have injury concerns

POSTED: Tuesday, September 18, 2012, 12:20 AM

Two of Villanova’s key offensive players are question marks for Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. game at Franklin Field against Penn.

Wildcats coach Andy Talley said on Monday during a conference call that running back Austin Medley is questionable with a hamstring injury and that receiver Norman White was having an MRI on his shoulder.

White had said after Saturday’s 31-10 win over visiting Rhode Island that he would be fine, but the fact that he’s receiving an MRI does bring into question his availability.

White, who missed the entire 2011 season with a foot injury, had his best game for the 2-1 Wildcats with seven receptions for 88 yards.

For the season he has 13 receptions for 159 yards and one touchdown.

Medley and fellow sophomore Kevin Monangai have been part of a formidable running back combination. This season Medley has rushed for 228 yards (5.8 average) and a touchdown.
