Connecticut linebacker commits to Villanova

Austin Calitro, a linebacker at Danbury High School (Conn.), gave an oral commitment Wednesday to play football at Villanova.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound senior-to-be made his announcement while on an unofficial visit to the Main Line campus. He is Nova's third commitment for the Class of 2012. Calitro chose the Wildcats over an offer from Football Bowl Subdivision program Temple. He was also receiving interest from Boston College.
