Christian Lacroix to design special line for Schiaparelli

With re-launch rumors in full swing, Schiaparelli wants to make a big return - with the help of a few fashion heavyweights.

Christian Lacroix, the designer whose company went into liquidation four years ago, is designing a one-time collection as a tribute to Elsa Schiaparelli, the New York TImes reported Wednesday.

The president and owner of Schiaparelli, Diego Della Valle, told the publication that Lacroix will unveil 15 couture pieces this summer as an homage to the late designer. On whether or not this could turn into a permanent gig for Lacroix, the designer stated, “It is not a return to fashion. I am not going to be at the heart of the house, nor will I give a catwalk show. It is simply the idea of revisiting her collections.”
