Knit Wit announces flagship store on Chestnut Street

Philadelphia shops Knit Wit and sister store Plage Tahiti have announced that the two will merge together at Knit Wit's Rittenhouse Row location (1729 Chestnut St.) beginning July 1 of this year, becoming the store's flagship location.

"After expanding our Rittenhouse Square store to Chestnut Street two years ago, we are excited to bring our sister store and its youthful, cutting-edge brands under the same roof as Knit Wit," said co-owner Ann Gitter, who is also the head buyer. "Many of our customers come to Knit Wit for an A.L.C. jumper or J BRAND jeans, and then run around the corner to Plage to pick up resort wear and a bikini. Beginning this summer, we'll have all of these great brands and the same merchandising mix in one gorgeous Rittenhouse Square location."

In preparation for the move, Plage Tahiti (128 S. 17th St.) will be marked down 60-90% beginning Friday, April 11.
