Kanye West penned 'I Am A God' for an 'unnamed designer'

And here we thought, "Hurry up with my damn croissants" was the line to be reckoned with in Kanye West's latest hit, "I Am God." But the story behind the song just got more intricate and interesting.

The self-adoring artist revealed to W magazine that the track was written after an "unnamed designer" invited him to his runway show one condition - if West would decline other fashion shows that season.

“Cause it’s like, Yo! Nobody can tell me where I can and can’t go,” West shared. “Man, I’m the number-one living and breathing rock star. I am Axl Rose; I am Jim Morrison; I am Jimi Hendrix. You can’t say that you love music and then say that Kanye West can’t come to your show.”

So who could it be? Fashion bets are on Hedi Slimane, who in his first season as creative director at Saint Laurent Paris (formerly the French fashion house known as Yves Saint Laurent) changed the brand's name, held a runway show without inviting editors, and released a crazy ad campaign featuring stars like Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson.

The piece also pens a tense moment between West and Kris Jenner, who stops by the artist's Paris apartment. During her brief visit, West plays her a few of his unfinihsed tracks, including "Awesome." Jenner responds enthusiastically with a "Great job!"

West, whose inflated ego has sparked its own song - a collaboration with Beyonce (hahaha) - and spurred numerous social media handles including @kanyewests_ego, @the_kanye, @kanyesbigego among many others, then goes on a rant which writer Christopher Bagley chronicles in the piece:

"Great job?" he says and sets off on a comic riff that cracks up everyone in the room. Toasting with his Champagne glass, he says, "Great job, Baccarat, for making a glass that can hold liquid!" He looks down at his waist. "Great job, belt loops, for keeping my pants up!" Jenner laughs off the mockery but soon is ready to leave. Hugging West goodbye, she tells him, "I love you. You know where to find us, at the George V. Call us tomorrow, if you want."
