A New York Times interview with Mad Men star January Jones published last Friday has been gaining traction on the web in the last 24 hours.

The 35-year-old single mother of 20-month-old Xander continues to refuse, in the face of rampant Hollywood gossip and speculation, to share the identity of her child's father. And why should she?

"Was it the actor Michael Fassbender, as has been speculated? Or is it Mr. Vaughn?" it said in the piece. "That's my son's business," Jones told the NY Times' Ruth La Ferla. "It's not the public's business."

"Women should have lots of secrets. It's our right to have secrets," she continued. "Otherwise, what would we write in our memoirs?"

While this remains the juicier part of the interview, it would not be a NY Times fashion piece without having Jones address her interesting red carpet choices. "I wanted to go extreme in hair and makeup, like a Bowie character, maybe," she said of her look at the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in January.

"I want to do things that are shocking," she adds. Well, we're hoping that Jones' future tell-all memoir will have its share of shocking revelations.
