Is this Kate Upton Mercedes-Benz ad too sexy to air during the Super Bowl?

A new Mercedes-Benz commercial starring Kate Upton, aptly tited, “Kate Upton Washes the All-New Mercedes-Benz CLA in Slow Motion” is raising eyebrows – particularly from the Parents’ Television Council.

A luxury car commercial featuring a hot model? Are we missing something?

A new Mercedes-Benz ad starring 20-year-old Kate Upton tited "Kate Upton Washes the All-New Mercedes-Benz CLA in Slow Motion" is raising eyebrows – particularly from the Parents' Television Council.

With over 3 million views on YouTube, the Mercedes-Benz commercial is said to reinforce the idea that using sex appeal to get what you want is a means to an end – something parents most certainly do not want their children to learn. The conservative organization says the ad is not selling cars; It's selling sexual objectification. The council claims the commercial is too racy for television in an attempt to halt it from airing during the Super Bowl on Feb. 3.

A spokeswoman for the PTC told the Daily Mail, "This ad [reinforces] for millions of wives, daughters and sisters across the country that you use your sex appeal to get what you want." She added, "If anything, this ad proves that we've regressed rather than progressed over the last several years."

Mercedes-Benz has a history of working with supermodels in previous years for print and multimedia ads - one of the most memorable featuring Lara Stone in Calvin Klein Collection standing beside a sleek SL Roadster for the brand's "Icons of Style" campaign. Other models who've starred in Mercedes-Benz ads include Milla Jovovich, Karolina Kurkova and Jessica Stam.

Commenters and critics on the brand's Facebook page, however, seem equally unimpressed by Mercedes' new ad, calling it "tacky" and "low brow."
