Is Kate Upton 'furious' with Victoria's Secret for publishing her photos in latest catalog?

A new report indicates supermodel Kate Upton is not-too-happy with Victoria's Secret for re-publishing images of her from 2011 in its latest catalog.

Multiple reports indicate supermodel Kate Upton is not-too-happy with Victoria's Secret for re-publishing images of her from 2011 in its latest catalog.

Upton, who catapulted to fame after appearing on the cover of the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, in addition to being featured in multiple viral Internet clips, graces the back cover of Victoria's Secret's latest catalog as it was revealed Tuesday.

Though the photos were republished without Upton's permission, Victoria's Secret owns the rights to the image of the curvy 20-year-old in a basic, black, Body by Victoria bra with Memory Fit technology. A source tells Page Six, "Kate's not currently contracted to work with Victoria's Secret, and they didn't contact her before they used these images."

A spokesperson close to the model told WWD, however, that the model is not "furious" with the brand like the Post had asserted Wednesday. Upton is said to have a "bad taste in her mouth."

The entire situation does seem well-timed on Victoria's Secret's part, especially with Upton's recent successes. Last February, casting agent Sophia Neophitou told the NY Times in an interview that Victoria's Secret would "never" use the blonde bombshell to walk in a show because she was a "too obvious" choice for the brand.

"She's like a Page 3 girl," Neophitou was quoted saying in reference to the barely-dressed, curvacious women featured in The Sun. "She's like a footballer's wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy," she added.

Now Victoria's Secret probably wishes Neophitou would have kept these comments to herself, considering Upton has become one of the world's most prolific models, even covering the June issue of Vogue.

IMG Models, which manages Upton, has not returned our call for request to comment, confirm or dispel these reports.
