Hollywood’s stars brought the season’s hottest looks to the red (or in this case, blue carpet) at Sunday night’s Teen Choice Awards.
Actress Lucy Hale co-hosted the evening’s festivities alongside Glee star Darren Criss. The Pretty Little Liars lead rocked several outfits throughout the awards show, but her crisp, cream-colored crop-top ensemble was adorable, flirty and fresh. ABC's popular Pretty Little Liars won a number of awards, including one for Hale, who took home a surfboard for "Choice Summer TV Star."
Gorgeous newlywed Kerry Washington was her usual fashionista self in a quirky, printed Stella McCartney mini-dress paired with Christian Louboutin heels. She was nominated for "Choice Movie Actress in a Comedy" for her role in summer flick Peeples.
Selena Gomez, whose album Stars Dance topped the Billboard 200 chart last week, looked all grown up in a forest green Cushnie et Ochs dress complete with double slits and demure shoulder cutouts. The “Come & Get It” pop star snagged the "Choice Female Hottie" surfboard, while One Direction cutie Harry Styles won the "Choice Male Hottie" award.
Award shows aren’t always about flaunting the most daring dresses – pantsuits and rompers still heat up the rolled-out carpet in subtly sexy style. Nina Dobrev of The Vampire Diaries was artsy with multi-colored paint strokes brightening up her J. Mendel two-piece. Dobrev, who attended the award show with co-star and ex-beau Ian Solmerhalder, was voted "Choice TV Actress in a Sci-fi/Fantasy."
Oscar-nominee and burgeoning style icon Hailee Steinfeld continues her run as the chicest 16-year-old in Hollywood. The starlet donned a red and blue starburst-printed House of Holland frock and killer smokey eye make-up. Steinfeld previously has been featured in campaign ads for fashion house Miu Miu, so she is definitely not a stranger to amazing high fashion.
While romantic frills and feminine garments are wonderful to see on the red carpet, a little punk rock edge is always much appreciated, especially from rock music's hottest performers. All eyes might be on Miley Cyrus’ new look these days, but Hayley Williams of Paramore looked fantastically rock-and-roll with a black strapless dress adorned with a white, cage-like bodice. Her fiery red bob haircut also perfectly completed the rockin' attire.
Arguably the most memorable moment of the evening, Lea Michele took the TCA stage to accept her surfboard for "Choice TV Actress in a Comedy" for her role in Glee, and her touching, heartfelt acceptance speech honoring her late co-star and boyfriend Cory Monteith left many in the audience in tears. Michele, radiant in an A-line dress with a light pink bodice and fuchsia skirt, thanked fans for all their support during the “very past difficult few weeks.” The Glee star also wore a nameplate necklace that read “Cory,” as a symbol of her memory.
