Political non-payment to PGW has a history in Philly

Old Story at PGW

John Street

So today's paper reveals D.A. Seth Williams had the same little problem keeping abreast with his PGW bill as did Mayor Michael Nutter.

Nothing really new here, because back in 1987, then City Councilman John Street -- ooops -- had the same pesky problem:

I've never fallen behind in my PGW bill. Is that because I am not an elected official? How about you? Other pols manage to pay on time, so maybe there's another cause. Arrogance? Lack of attention to detail? Whatever.

It didn't keep Street from later being elected mayor of our fine city.
