BUFFALO, N.Y. – Returning to its five-game road trip, Temple women's soccer dropped a 3-0 decision to the University of New York at Buffalo Bulls on Friday evening in the first match of the team's weekend stay in Western N.Y. The Owls put up a strong offensive effort, ripping 15 shots to the Bulls 14, but Buffalo goalkeepers Ainsley Wheldon and McKenzie White stopped all nine Temple shots on goal, holding them scoreless in the match.

Redshirt junior goalkeeper Tara Murphy made six saves in goal for the Owls, but was unable to make stops on Katie Kerr, Taylor Thompson and Katie Roberts.

Roberts had her hand in all three of the Bulls' goals, contributing with assists on the first two Buffalo tallies before scoring a goal herself in the 82nd minute.

Junior Brittany Wollner and senior Niki Conn each had four shots in the contest for Temple, but couldn't solve Wheldon.

Kerr got Buffalo out to a 1-0 lead just before the 9th minute when Roberts flicked ball over a defender's head to lead Kerr with a shot over Murphy.

Trailing by only a goal in the opening minutes of the second half, Thompson expanded on the Buffalo lead in the 50th minute.

Immediately after, Temple took the ball into the Buffalo zone and set up its best scoring chance of the night.  Conn, sophomore Jenna Gosnay and junior Jourdan Brill all launched shots, but we're turned away all three times.

Buffalo's Roberts sealed the deal for the Bulls in the 82nd minute with the team's third goal of the night from the left, low right side.

Temple (2-3-0) will head north to Niagara University for Sunday's 11 a.m. match with the Purple Eagles.
