PHILADELPHIA- New head coach Matt Gwilliam and Temple women's soccer have announced that it will open the 2011 campaign against the Iona Gaels in New Rochelle, N.Y., on Aug. 20 at 2:00 p.m.

The Owls get their home schedule underway on Aug. 26 in Ambler and will play back-to-back home matches starting with a contest against UMBC. The back-end to the homestand will occur when they take on Marist two days later. All together, Temple has four separate occasions in which it will host back-to-back matches.

After taking on Marist, the Owls will not return to Ambler until late September since they will have five straight road matches to begin the month. The lengthy road swing opens Sept. 2 with a city-rival match against Drexel and concludes in Lawrenceville, N.J., when the Owls clash with Rider on Sept. 16.

The Cherry and the White return home Sept. 23 to round out non-conference play with Francis Marion and Siena before heading to La Salle on the final night of the month to open Atlantic 10 Conference play.

Temple will travel to Fordham and Saint Joseph's before making a stop in Ohio to take on Xavier and Dayton. Over the course of the conference slate, the Owls will greet Richmond, George Washington and Duquesne in Ambler before closing out the season there on Oct. 30 against St. Bonaventure.

The Owls also announced that they will host Towson in a preseason scrimmage on Aug 12 at 4:00 p.m.
