PHILADELPHIA - For the first time in program history, the Saint Joseph's women's basketball team went undefeated in the month of January, capping it with a 57-50 win over Atlantic 10 newcomer this evening at Hagan Arena. Going 6-0 on the month, the Hawks improved to 14-5 overall and 5-0 in the Atlantic 10 with Wednesday's win.
Trailing 46-40 with under 12 minutes to play, the Saint Joseph's defense stymied the Bulldogs over the remaining time as the Hawks took control of the game. Using a 12-2 run over seven minutes, Saint Joseph's evaporated the deficit and opened a 52-48 lead on a pair of free throws by junior forward Ashley Robinson at 3:30.

PHILADELPHIA - Led by junior forward Ilze Gotfrida's career-high 21 points, the Saint Joseph's women's basketball team downed St. Bonaventure, 61-44, Saturday afternoon at Hagan Arena. Holding the Bonnies to just 29.6 percent shooting (16-of-54), the Hawks improved to 4-0 in the Atlantic 10 and 13-5 overall.
Falling behind 12-8 to start, the Hawks took over the second half of the opening period, using a 17-2 run to take a 25-14 lead at halftime. Saint Joseph's held St. Bonaventure to just 1-of-11 from the field to finish the half as the Bonnies converted just 6-of-28 from the field (21.4 percent).

PHILADELPHIA – Coming off a 24-point, 18-rebound performance in Saint Joseph’s 82-62 win over Richmond on Saturday, redshirt senior forward Chatilla van Grinsven (Helmond, Netherlands/Dr. Knippenberg College) has been named both Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week and College Sports Madness A-10 Player of the Week, organization officials announced on Monday.

PHILADELPHIA – Behind a 32-9 run that spanned both halves, the Saint Joseph’s women’s basketball team opened Atlantic 10 play with an 82-62 victory over Richmond Saturday afternoon at Hagan Arena. The Hawks got 24 points from redshirt senior forward Chatilla van Grinsven (Helmond, Netherlands/Dr. Knippenberg College) and 21 points from junior guard Erin Shields (Drexel Hill, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) as they improved to 10-5 overall.

PHILADELPHIA - Coming off a career-high 27 points in Saint Joseph’s win at Penn on Saturday, redshirt senior Chatilla van Grinsven was named Philadelphia Big 5 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, organization officials announced on Monday.
Playing arguably her best game as a Hawk, the starting forward was dominant against the Quakers, knocking down 12-of-20 from the floor, and 3-of-4 from the foul line, to set a new career-high in scoring. Additionally, van Grinsven posted a game-high 15 rebounds, including five at the offensive end, to go with two assists, two steals and a blocked shot. Finishing with four points and three rebounds at #17/18 UCLA on Monday after playing with a stomach virus, van Grinsven earned her third Big 5 weekly award after averaging 15.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game as the Hawks went 1-1 in their two games.
