NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Saint Joseph's senior forward Ellen Rowe (Selbyville, Del./Sussex Technical) was named the Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. Rowe had a hand in four of SJU's five goals this past weekend, scoring three of them herself and adding an assist.
On Saturday, Rowe netted both Hawk tallies in an eventual 7-2 loss to undefeated Ohio. On both scores, Rowe inserted the ball on a penalty corner and received a quick return pass that she converted into her first and second goals of the season.

PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph’s University will host a pair of Atlantic 10 championships during the 2011-12 season, conference officials announced on Thursday. The Hawks will host the A-10 Field Hockey Championship the first week of November and the A-10 Women’s Basketball Championship the first week of March.
Hosting the A-10 Women’s Basketball Championship for the eighth time, the Hawks will welcome the top 12 teams in the conference to Hagan Arena on March 2-5, with the league championship game televised live on ESPN at 5 p.m. on March 5. Saint Joseph’s has previously hosted the A-10 Women’s Basketball Championship in 1985, 1991, 1994, 1995, 2004, 2006 and 2008, with the Hawks advancing to the semifinals in 1985, 1995 and 2006; and the championship game in 1991 and 2004.

PHILADELPHIA - Danielle Brady (Women's Rowing) and Jared Sabre (Men's Track) have been named Saint Joseph's Outstanding Senior Student-Athletes and will each receive the Class of 1950 award at the University's Commencement on May 14.
A three-time Atlantic 10 champion, Brady has won the top honors in both the Varsity 8 and Quad events over her career. A three-time silver medalist at the conference meet, the co-captain helped SJU to its first-ever A-10 title this April, earning All-Conference First Team accolades along the way. A member of just the SJU crew that participated in the 2010 Henley Royal Regatta, she has earned A-10 All-Academic Team honors, and has been a member of both the Commissioner's Honor Roll and the SJU Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

Seven Saint Joseph's field hockey players were honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for their work in the classroom as part of the 2010 Gladiator/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. The Hawks were also recipients of the National Academic Team Award.
Earning individual accolades for the fourth consecutive season were seniors Hannah Rogers and Jen Wrublesky. The two were also Atlantic 10 All-Academic honorees as well.

Saint Joseph's senior forward Nicole McCreight was named to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team on Thursday. A Hawk has now been named to the All-Mid-Atlantic squad for seven consecutive seasons.
McCreight is the 22nd Saint Joseph's field hockey player to garner All-Region honors; current teammate Jen Wrublesky was selected to the First Team in 2007.

Saint Joseph's senior forward Nicole McCreight was chosen as the 2010 Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Year in a vote of the league's head coaches, conference officials announced on Thursday. McCreight was also named to the All-Conference First Team while seniors Hannah Rogers and Jen Wrublesky received All-Academic Team accolades.
McCreight scored 17 goals and added three assists for 37 points, notching the highest single-season goal total by a Hawk since 1986 (third highest all-time) and the fourth-highest single season point total in SJU history. She started all 19 games for the Hawks after appearing in just 15 over her first three seasons due to injuries. She is the first Hawk to be named Offensive Player of the Year.
