Drexel Women's Soccer Ranked Seventh in Latest Mid-Atlantic Region Poll

Philadelphia - The Drexel women's soccer team, fresh off its 1-0 win against Penn on Sunday, is ranked seventh in this week's NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women's Mid-Atlantic Region Poll. It is the first time in the 17-year history of the program that the Dragons have been ranked regionally.

Colonial Athletic Association-foe William & Mary is first in the region with a 5-2 mark. Following the Tribe in the top five is Dayton, CAA-member UNCW, Harvard and La Salle. Colgate is ranked sixth followed by the Dragons. Charlotte and Navy are ranked eighth and ninth, respectively, while Princeton and Brown are tied for 10th.

The Dragons are off to their best seven-match start in school history with a 5-1-1 record. They have a six-match unbeaten streak, which is also a program mark. Drexel's win against Penn on Sunday was the first time the team ever defeated its cross-town rival in nine attempts.

Drexel is off until Friday when it faces Temple in Ambler, Pa. The match begins at 4 p.m.
