LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Saint Joseph's senior pitcher Taryn Ashway has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-Northeast Region First Team, organization officials announced on Thursday.
The all-region teams were chosen by NFCA member coaches from each respective region, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to one of three 2013 NFCA Division I All-American teams.

AMHERST, Mass. - Despite falling behind 3-0 early, Saint Joseph's rallied to take a lead in the fourth inning and got a stellar performance in the circle by freshman Liz Mendez as the Hawks topped Saint Louis, 4-3, at the Atlantic 10 Softball Championship Thursday afternoon at Sortino Field.
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Finishing first in the Atlantic 10 regular season and earning a bye for this week’s conference postseason tournament, the Saint Joseph’s softball team was recognized for its stellar play as five Hawks earned A-10 honors, conference officials announced on Tuesday. The Hawks had four players named to All-Conference teams, highlighted by A-10 Pitcher of the Year Taryn Ashway (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area), A-10 Rookie of the Year Sarah Yoos (Warrington, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and A-10 Coach of the Year Terri Adams.
Posting four players on A-10 All-Conference squads for the third straight year, Ashway and Yoos join senior Dana Parks (Vineland, N.J./Vineland) on the A-10 All-Conference First Team, while redshirt senior Monica Aguilar (Buena Park, Calif./John F. Kennedy) was selected to the A-10 All-Conference Second Team. Additionally, Parks was selected to the A-10 All-Academic Team for the third straight season, while Yoos becomes the sixth SJU player to be named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - For the first time in program history, the Saint Joseph's softball team has claimed the Atlantic 10 regular season title. Sweeping their doubleheader at George Washington, 5-2 and 2-1, Sunday afternoon, SJU finished with the best record in the A-10 and a first round bye at this week's conference tournament.
Picked to finish fourth in the A-10 preseason poll, Saint Joseph's finished the regular season with a 17-5 record in conference. The Hawks will open postseason play Thursday at noon versus either fourth seed George Washington or fifth seed Dayton at Sortino Field at the University of Massachusetts.
MERION STATION, Pa. – Saint Joseph’s senior Kyle Mullen (Berwyn, Pa./St. Joseph’s Prep) set a new school record for wins in a career and junior Jimmy Yacabonis (Matawan, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) notched his single-season record eighth save of the season as the SJU baseball team topped Xavier, 2-1, at Smithson Field on Friday afternoon.
Mullen notched the 20th win of his career, breaking a tie with Jed Johnson, who won 19 games between 1993 and 1996. He also broke the Saint Joseph’s record for innings pitched in a career, surpassing the 305.2 of Randy Mower, who pitched for the Hawks from 2007 to 2010.

Senior Casey Robinson (Radnor, Pa./Harriton) was selected to the A-10 All-Conference First Team for the second straight year, while sophomore Aurora Davis (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) earned A-10 All-Conference Second Team honors, conference officials announced on Tuesday.
The only player in Saint Joseph's women's tennis history to garner multiple Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors, Robinson finished her career as arguably the best player to ever don the Crimson and Gray. An All-Conference First Team selection as a junior and senior, and Second Team honoree as a sophomore, Robinson posted a 66-21 singles record over her four seasons, setting the Hawks' all-time records for singles wins (66) and wins at No. 1 singles (52). This year, she posted arguably the best season in program history going 25-4 overall in singles matches and 20-3 at the top singles flight. A member of the SJU Athletic Director's Honor Roll, Robinson topped her previous record for wins, 23, set last season as a junior.

PHILADELPHIA -The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team is headed to the Atlantic 10 title game next Saturday in Brooklyn as the Hawks topped #11 Dayton in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship Sunday afternoon at Hagan Arena. With the win, the Hawks will now play for the A-10 title next Saturday, March 16 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
The Hawks held a 52-49 lead with 2:45 remaining in regulation, but Dayton's Andrea Hoover hit a jumper to bring the Flyers to within one,
